What is the adventure?

Well, I'm glad you asked.

We are a homeschooling family. We're Catholic. We're a little weird too.

Throughout our homeschool journey, Waldorf has come in and out of my frame of reference. My oldest even attended a Waldorf school for a very short while when she was preschool age. As time has gone on, we realized we needed to simplify. We realized our children were not being children. We realized they had been forced to grow up too fast, in ways they weren't ready for, and that what we were doing wasn't working. Waldorf enters ours lives yet again. Since we can't afford Waldorf school, and since we have been homeschooling anyway, and since we are Catholic and that leaves some grey areas in making sure we fit Waldorf ideas into our faith life, I figured, hey I can do this! Of course that quickly turned into panic as I realized that I had no idea what I was doing, that all the curriculum choices out there were pretty much out of our homeschool budget, and that the ones I could afford were great, but not as step by step as I had hoped. So basically - I'm writing it all mostly myself. I am using outlines that I have found, and filling it in for our family.

Once I started doing this, I realized, hey, maybe someone else could use this, or has better ideas, or can give me some great input on how to do it better next time! So, here is this blog! I'll be posting our adventure as we go through and learn all about Waldorf education, and I will also be posting links to our lesson plans and how-to as I get it pulled together. This year is not going to be as organized as I would have liked, but its going to be great! I can FEEL it! Thanks for joining us on this new and amazing Waldorf Adventure!
